Birthday Party Plans Continue...

So I've been a little inactive on my personal blogs the past week due to freebie/deal finding blogs on my Penny Pinch Plug sites AND because I've been working on Zoey's birthday stuff. Time will be up before I know it and I'll be caught with to much to do last minute if I am not hopping on getting it all done right now.

Anyways, I wanted to show off what I've completed. One of the things I knew I could do early was the signage for the game booths so as soon as I got stocked up on poster board and markers - I got busy! Here's what I've completed so far along with a description of the game they go along with!

(So, upon arrival at the party each family will go up to the ticket booth. Each child will be presented with a handled gift sack full of tickets to play the games and each family will receive tickets to purchase food at the concession stand.)

KISSING BOOTH - This is in no way a traditional kissing booth that you would find back in the day, so don't worry -- no one is gonna be puckering their lips to win a prize! =) I saw this cute idea in a Parents magazine and had to use it. You simply get a large container and fill it with Hershey's kisses, each participant takes one of their game tickets and writes their name and guess as to how many kisses are in the jar and then places that into a separate container. At the end of the game time all the guesses will be looked over and whoever guesses the closest without going over will win the entire container of kisses!

TATTOOS - My mom will become a tattoo artist for the day and put temporary tattoos on all the kiddos. There will be blown-up pictures of the tattoos under the "Tattoos" signage for the kids to pick what tattoo they want. On the right are the circus tattoos they can choose from. After they get one applied, they will also get a couple to put in their prize bag to take home.

Pluck a Duck - This is just a simple duck pond game where you pick up the duckies until you find one with a star upon which you will get a prize. I bought the circus duckies you see pictured and plan to try to find some more regular litte yellow ducks to make it more concentrated and a little harder to win. I plan to buy a large, wide but short tub/bucket that I saw at Big Lots in their Easter area to fill with a few inches of water to put all the duckies in. The prize for this booth is bubble wands that were left-overs from the wedding.

Backyardigans Ball Blitz - One of Zoey's favorite shows is the Backyardigans and last year she got this Backyardigans Circus set and figurines, in my great wisdom I cut the clown images of 2 of the characters off of the box and saved them to possibly use for a birthday party. Well, as you can see I glued them to the sign for this game and I will also use the bobble-head figurines it came with as well. This is just a toss a ping pong sized ball into a cup and hope it doesn't bounce out game. I'll use that stick-em stuff to put the little figurines in and around the cups. The prize for this game is various medium/small sized stuffed animals.

Dumbo Lollies - This is a simple lollipop tree carnival game where the kids pull out a lollipop and if it's got a mark on the bottom of the stick, you win a prize. The twist is that instead of a tree, the 300 Dum Dum pops I bought will be stuck in a round floral ball that will be sitting on a yellow tub base and on top of the sphere will be a plush Dumbo. The kids get to pick as many as they can until they find 2 colored ends. The prizes are "WINNER" buttons and mini slinky dogs. They also get to keep all the Dum Dum pops they pick!

Dunk the Duck - During the Christmas holidays we found this electronic shooting game that looks like a carnival booth all on its own at an outlet store. It retails online up to $60 and we paid $13! Anyways, you aim at the little target to knock down the ducks that go by on a conveyer type thingie. It even plays carnival music and has a fast and a slow mode. Its so easy even Zoey can do it! The prize for this booth is another group of various medium/small sized stuffed animals.

Wild West Shooting Range - This was a leftover from last years Wild West party. We bought this set at Target for $18, it's exactly the same one pictured in this photo from Amazon (where they wanted $70 for it, btw!) except for the can and bottle labels. You aim the gun at the cans and shoot, if you are close a little button on the "log" will pop up and send the bottles and cans flying off. Its a lot of fun to play with! The prize for this booth is stuffed cats and dogs in various sizes.

7 signs down 8 to go! And thats just game booth signs! There are more to be made other than that!! Ack!!! What have I gotten myself into?!?! =)

(Here's hoping that on large view computer monitor's this doesn't look really crazy!)

Penny Pinch Plugs

Coupon's a'plenty!! We did a big grocery run today, and I just had to brag that we saved over $30 simply using coupons! And this doesn't count all the cash we saved using Walmart's price comparison deal. We were quite pleased with all our savings. It takes extra time to cut coupons and search for deals in all the grocery store ads but it adds up in the long run where your pocketbook is concerned!

Attention: Today is the last day to use your FREE Roastburger coupons with any drink purchase at Arbys! Go HERE to print it! We went today (Mar 8th) for the "I want to change my burger" deal (basically the same thing just w/o the coupon). It was GREAT! We all got the Bacon and Cheddar Roastburger w/their garlicy ranch sauce. Sooooo yummy! For $10 we got 3 roastburgers, 3 shakes, 1 soda and 1 large curly fry. Not too shabby for a family of 3! You can get the same deal with the coupon through tomorrow, just print one for each person!

So while watching TV I see this Kashi commercial that told me to go to their website for free frozen entrées. I headed over and "Darn." they ran out of free coupon's but they are still handing out $2 off coupon's HERE.

Always keep an eye out for coupons at Coupons.com, there's always great finds there! Here's some of the DOZENS of offers they refer you to in their "Featured Savings" page post printing coupons >>

Penny Pinch Plugs

So we drove out of town today to do some shopping (went to look at the Circut City final weekend and they had NOTHING) and I took along my print-out for my free Victoria's Secret bag I blogged about previously. Went in and got my $20 bag for free! It was awesome! Here's the bag::

We also few a couple of GREAT deals at Hastings. A $30 Deftones CD for $3, a $25 Breeders single for $3, a Donnas CD+DVD for $6 and Twilight - New Moon (paperpack) for $5.99 -- all used. Also, Zoey got a cute little $10 tin Bratz "purse" for $2.25 and we found a $24 Spiderwick Chronicals game for $5.24 -- clearanced. The deal of the day was a Nautical Archeology book MSRP $40 clearanced down to $4!!
